Recently started work on a Malagnini. I did not know anything about Malagnini bicycles before but working through the bike it is an incredible bike. The bicycle was in a descent starting shape. The seat post was frozen in the seat tube and it took two people and an hour to remove. The wheels where mix matched rims, one a tubular rim and one a clincher, rims will be replaced.
The Malagnini will receive a restoration along with new cables, cable housings, bearings, wheel rims, handlebar tape and saddle. I am excited for the results!

The frame looked a little rough to start, a deep down grime but not to many chips. So much better to save the original paint than new paint

A deep cleaning, working through the polishing grits and then a wax sealer and the frame looks fantastic, I am very happy with the results!

The headset and bottom bracket had old grease but a good cleaning and sometime on the polishing wheels and the headset & bottom bracket turned out great!

The stem and handlebars where next. I cleaned off the old handlebar tape and got to work on the cleaning and polishing. The stem and handlebars polished very nice and installed look great! I also worked on the brake levers, the hoods cleaned nicely and the levers polished nice. They look great installed.

The Campagnolo crank is in descent shape, the Campagnolo cranks are hard to polish with the factory finish. I cleaned the crank and gently worked on the polishing wheels. Overall I am happy with how the crank turned out.

Campagnolo brake calipers where quit gritty but a good cleaning and polishing the calipers turned out great. I always like these Campagnolo calipers, they function very well.

The Campagnolo derailleurs are in ok starting shape. A good cleaning, sometime on the polishing wheels and all the proper points lubricated the derailleurs are functioning perfect and look great too.

The Malagnini had mismatched wheels, the front was a clincher rim and the rear was a tubular rim. The Campagnolo Record hubs did match however. I disassembled the wheels and got to work on the polishing hubs. Axles cleaned and polished and new bearings and grease and the hubs spin wonderfully. Best of all is how the hubs look, beautiful hubs! I laced new spokes along with Campagnolo tubular rims. I am very happy with the results of the wheels. I a missing a photo of the rims so notice the rims in other photos along the way.

Campagnolo pedals are in great starting shape for pedals, pedals usually take a beating. A good flushing and lubricating along with some polishing and the pedals are fantastic, I couldn't be happier.

Very cool that the Malagnini has a matching orange Bianchi tire pump. A good cleaning and a little plastic polish and it looks good on the frame.
