Ben S's Schwinn Voyageur 11.8 Chrome Restoration

This is Ben S's Schwinn Voyageur 11.8 Chrome.  Amazing that I have two Schwinn Voyageur 11.8 chromes in the shop at once.  Ben S's Schwinn 11.8 has a very interesting combination of components on it, a Campagnolo rear derailleur and rear wheel hub and non original brake levers.

The Schwinn Voyageur is in rough starting shape, the front wheel is no good and the frame lacquer is flaking off.  The Voyageur has already been fighting me very hard, he Stem is stuck and so is the seat post.  If I can remove the stem and seat post the Voyageur will receive a complete restoration with new tires, cables and cable housings, a new refurbished saddle and probably more I am forgetting right now.

I really hope I can remove the stuck pieces because this is a bicycle that deserves to be on the road, it will be a fantastic bicycle when done.

After about two weeks of soaking and heating the stem broke free, the seat post has not yet.  I have tried everything from PB Blaster, white vinegar to filling the seat tube with Coca Cola. It has not budged yet.

It will soak for a while longer and then I will heat it again and see what happens, hopefully it will break free soon.  It is the most stubborn stuck seat post I have come across.
