I then had to go back for one more time with the course polish..." did you take special care around the labels and stickers? Or was the polish gentle enough to preserve them? I'd appreciate knowing the brand you used. Thanks again.BreezeLadyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14802349554084378711noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-644962941958841994.post-47487733058175021312019-07-22T22:10:59.944-07:002019-07-22T22:10:59.944-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.BreezeLadyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14802349554084378711noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-644962941958841994.post-25594996136496903272019-07-22T22:03:00.783-07:002019-07-22T22:03:00.783-07:00Just want to thank you for your detailed breakdown...Just want to thank you for your detailed breakdown on restoring a Breeze. I just picked up a beauty, but I need to learn how to take care of her. I've been concerned about how to learn the parts' names and techniques so I don't do damage due to ignorance. You provide a great guide for me to get started by knowing what's what and how to proceed. Many thanks! Your result is lovely.BreezeLadyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14802349554084378711noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-644962941958841994.post-8956999172877249792018-06-01T09:22:34.612-07:002018-06-01T09:22:34.612-07:00I would say that you could get your old bike runni...I would say that you could get your old bike running again with minor expense and mostly completed by yourself. Most things on a bicycle are very simple in design, that's the beauty. I would suggest new tires, tubes, chain, and cables. Most of this replacement can be performed with general household tools. A specialized "chain breaker" tool will most likely be needed to replace the chain, but youtube how to use it. This will get you back in the saddle. I just recently purchased a 1973 Breeze and plan on doing just this...with a little elbow grease in cleaning.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13727923958425965707noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-644962941958841994.post-36989787753597590412018-05-30T15:40:29.217-07:002018-05-30T15:40:29.217-07:00hi - I just came home from a trip to the house I g...hi - I just came home from a trip to the house I grew up in, and returned with my Schwinn Breeze. I have/had high hopes about restoring it, but the bike shop I stopped at basically said they wouldn't touch it for any price. Said the tires were a proprietary size, and that the hubs were old and dangerous, and that the spokes would probably break... so question - did you encounter any of these problems?? I would love to ride my old bike again, I've gotten old and can't ride by mountain bikes comfortably any more. I would like to have a nice step-through, sit up straight and don't put any weight on your hands kind of bike. (and not any...I want my breeze back) how long did it take? Is it something that a person can learn as they go along? thankssummerlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08364228329505781532noreply@blogger.com
